In July 2015, Nextflix anounced that it ordered 20 episodes of Ingobernable, a Spanish language series starring Kate. Her character is Irene Urzua, Mexico’s first lady. According to the press release, she is "a woman with a strong personality, conviction and clear ideas, Urzua is capable of creating a president, leaving a president and killing a president."  Scary!

In 2013, she played the transexual chicano convict Mouse in the movie K-11, directed by Julie Stewart, Kristen Stewart's mom. "This was a risky role to take, but that's what I loved. I know immediately that if I'm afraid, I have to move forward and take that chance," she said to NBC Latino.
