Kim Kardashian's reasons for going nude will surprise you
When Kim Kardashian took it ALL off for Paper magazine, I wondered why. Why did Kim Kardashian decide to go nude, especially now that she's a mom, I thought. I really did and when I showed the pictures to my husband--I know how nice of me right--he wondered why too. We told each other it couldn't be for the money because we all know Kim's not pinchin' pennies so why? Why strip for Paper so completely when I'm sure every publication that has ever photographed her in a risqué manner has wanted her to do the same? Well, Kim Kardashian has finally revealed why she took it all off for the now mega-infamous "Break the Internet" Paper issue. You ready for the logic?

During an appearance on the Australian TV show The Project Kim addressed the whole why did you take all of your clothes off and do you think it's a good example for the young'uns issue by saying:
I was so honored and excited to work with [photographer Jean-Paul Goude] because he is a legend, and for me that was something I wanted to do to make myself feel confident. As a role model I'm not saying anyone else should do that, but for me it was an art project and it taught me to do what you want to do…I'm never one to preach, but I felt really positive and really good about myself. I love the photos, I did it for me, I hope other people like them
Hmm, well I have to say that Kim has a point. She was working with a very talented photographer, a legend no less, and why the heck not? It's her body. I had no idea that Kim was in a place where she needed to make herself feel "confident," but it just goes to show that no matter who you are you can have confidence issues. I have friends who have taken boudoir style photos to help them feel confident and they say it did help, the difference is that their photos were meant to be private and not for public consumption.
I guess I need to reframe the way I think about Kim Kardshian. Instead of thinking of her as an exhibitionist reality star attention-monger who will do anything to stay in the spotlight, I need to think of her as an artist whose media are her body and life. The truth is that I am biased against her and judge her differently than say an actual model. If a "model" had done that same Paper photo shoot, I wouldn't have lifted an eyebrow because, well, models do things like that and I certainly wouldn't have worried about the model's child seeing the pictures later in life.
I'm not gonna lie and pretend that I didn't worry about little North West and how her mom's nude photo shoot would affect her, but I'm not so worried about it now. Kids are very smart and receptive. I think all Kim has to do is tell Nori her reasons for doing it and Nori will be fine with it. She'll still get teased by others about it, but there's no controlling that is there?
