Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon in bitter custody battle over their dogs

Things are starting to get real ugly between Mariah Carey and her ex-husband Nick Cannon. The two are currently in the middle of a messy divorce and apparently are fighting over custody of their dogs. And I'm not talking two or three dogs, girl. The couple had eight dogs together and are starting to get pretty bitter about who's going to have legal guardianship over their furry friends. Um, that's just crazy. If things are getting this out of line over pets, could you imagine how bad things could get over their twins, Monroe and Moroccan?

Mariah and Nick's eight dogs seem to mean a lot to both of them. I mean, they don't even have normal names. Their four-legged friends are called, The Good Reverend Pow Jackson, Mutley P Gore Jackson The Third, Jill E Beans, Pipitty Jackson, Cha, Jackie Lambchops, JJ and Speak E Beans. Anyone else find those names a tad bit ridiculous?

If they can't figure things out with the dogs, what's going to happen with the kids? Well according to reports, the couple has already agreed on shared custody over their three-year-old twins. Nick even spoke about it openly on The Meredith Vieira Show last week. "They're just happy," he said regarding the kids. "They love mommy, they love daddy. We've always been people who are kinda on the go, coming and going, so their life hasn't changed one bit. We spend holidays together, we do everything we're supposed to do together."

It looks like Nick and Mariah are trying to keep things as normal as possible for their twins. As for the whole canine custody battle, Nick says it's all a bunch of BS. "You know what I heard the other day? He added. "I heard that there's a family dispute over our eight dogs. It's the Jack Russell puppy dispute." According to him, they're a lot more concerned about the kids. "It's truly just staying focused on family and what's right and getting through these times and just doing what's right for the kids," he explained. Moroccan and Monroe may not fully understand what's going on with their parents right now, but it's great that Nick and Mariah are really going out of their way to make things as painless as possible for them. Something tells me they'll probably remain friends and why not? It worked for J.Lo and Marc Anthony!
