Teresa Giudice records emotional video for her kids before heading to jail

Since getting sentenced to prison for fraud, Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe have been all over the headlines. The NY Times bestselling cookbook writer and reality star was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison and is expected to turn herself in in January. After she does her time, Joe will go in for 41 months and the couple will have to pay $414,000 in restitution. Of course, the hardest part about all of this is that Teresa and Joe will be leaving behind their four daughters, 13-year-old Gia, 10-year-old Gabriella, 8-year-old Milania, and 5-year-old Audriana. Teresa is reportedly preparing for her departure by recording videos that her daughters' can play while she's away.

Truthfully, I think Teresa and Joe Giudice brought this on themselves. You can't commit bankruptcy and wire fraud without getting punished for it. Teresa mentioned she was shocked after the sentencing, but honestly, what did she expect? I think it is truly heartbreaking that their four young daughters have to deal with this emotional stress. They don't know how this is going to affect their mental and emotional health in the future.

As a mom, Teresa must be torn apart. She told Us magazine:

I feel guilty every day. I wish I could do everything differently. But then again, maybe not, because this is a life lesson that I need to learn and will learn, and will teach my children for the rest of my life, just as Judge Salas told me she expected me to do.

A source also revealed that Teresa has been taping videos for her kids to play for their birthdays and holidays. "There will be one for birthdays, one for holidays, and a video with words of encouragement for when they're sad," said the insider.

Teresa may have her faults, but she seems like a very loving and dedicated mom. I hope they are able to get through this and that she learns her lesson. Teresa already has a $3 million tell-all book deal waiting for her when she gets out. Although this may be a dark time for her family, it definitely seems like there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
