Solange Knowles FINALLY talks about the Jay-Z elevator fight
It's been nearly two months since TMZ released an elevator surveillance video that showed Solange Knowles showering brother-in-law Jay-Z with a heaping dose of rage as sister Beyoncé looked on. The trio later released a joint statement in which Jay and Solange assumed responsibility for the incident and moved on "as a united family" without ever telling us what exactly happened. Now in her cover story for Lucky magazine's August issue, the 28-year-old singer breaks the silence…
Our mouths were all agape as we watched the video of Solange beating up on Jay-Z after they left the Met Gala this past May. What got her so worked up to the point of kicking the rapper and trying to throw punches in his direction? And why was her sister Beyoncé just standing there as if nothing was going down? All these questions and more gave rise to speculations, rumors of a cheating husband, and some hilarious memes so its no surprise that the family is keen on putting some distance between them and what Solange now calls "that thing."
"What's important is that my family and I are all good," she told Lucky. "What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that."
The reason behind her elevator kung fu moves are still a mystery to everyone and hopefully someone in the family gets a few things off their chest if only to satiate our nosy appetites. "That thing," as Solange calls it, is going to keep following those three for a good long while so might as well air it out and keep the rumor mills from continuing to turn.
