Selena Gomez's abuelo reveals scary truth about her health & it doesn't look good
For a while now folks have been speculating that Selena Gomez was battling lupus and now her abuelo, Ricardo Gomez, has confirmed it. Lupus is an auto-immune disease that causes the body's immune system to attack healthy tissue and like so many autoimmune diseases, the cause is unknown; it can range from mild to life-threatening.
According to Ricardo, Selena was diagnosed with lupus a "couple of years ago." He says, "She's in treatment. She's getting along pretty good." But he and his wife, Mary Gomez, are worried about their beloved granddaughter and they desperately want her to take a break from her hectic and stressful public life.

Selena is very close to her grandparents as they pretty much raised her for the first three years of her life and it makes sense that they would be worried about her well-being given that they rarely get to see her anymore and instead see about the drama in her life via media coverage.
They still keep in touch via phone and whenever they ask Selena if she is okay, the answer is, "Yeah." Ricardo says, "What worries [us] more is that she doesn't know how to say no. She won't take time for herself to relax, to eat well."
It's good to know that Selena has such loving abuelos in her life. They seem truly concerned for her well-being and I hope she listens to them and does take it easy.
Selena, listen to your abuelos. You have a long road ahead of you. Take care yourself, your talent and charisma aren't going anywhere. You don't have to do it all now. Buena suerte, cuídate and stay well, please!
