'The Voice': A SHOCKING Result for Team Adam
The live semi-finals results show was a nail biter as only three artists will be moving on to the finals. Adam has the most to lose. He was the only coach to go out on a limb choosing risky, off-kilter songs for both Kat Perkins and Christina Grimmie's semi-finals performance. Can Kat Perkins continue to ride her wave of being saved by America? Will Christina's internet following take her to the finals? Find out.
The first artist saved by America is Team Blake's Jake Worthington, aka America's Sweetheart. I can't say I'm surprised, though I'm a bit disappointed that country triumphs again (yes, I'm a hater). The second artist saved is soulful daddy Josh Kaufman for Team Usher. I've been a fan of Josh's from day one and am happy to see him move on. This means all the ladies are in the bottom three.
Tessanne Chin, the goddess I dream about at night, provides relief from the tension with a preview of her new single, Everything Reminds Me of You." (Does anyone else believe Adam is in love with her? He literally bites his lip when she performs and then confesses his love for her.) Tessanne is a superstar and honestly, I don't think there has been any other "The Voice" contestant with as much raw talent as her. Now back to the competition.
Kristen Merlin is up first, performing "Blown Away" by Carrie Underwood. Her performance is strong and Shakira praises her for representing every one who is different. Kat Perkins chooses "Good Girl," also by Carrie Underwood. Usher celebrates her for electrifying the audience. Christina Grimmie sings One Republic's "Apologize" for the finale of the night, like she's gunning for the win. Adam rallies for her, claiming if she wins the instant save she can take it all the way (I completely agree.)
The "Instant Save" is open and each of the coaches rally for their artists. Only one can advance with the help of America's tweets. The final artist to advance to the finals is...Christina Grimmie! Can she take it all the way? Tune in next week to find out.
