SEE: Angelina Jolie & her daughter Vivienne Jolie Pitt in 'Maleficent'
How often do we hear big time actors say that they really don't want their kids to go into acting? So often it seems pretty standard, no? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, both quite successful actors, have six kids and in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jolie said: "I think we would both prefer that they didn't become actors." Hmmm, then why is it that Vivienne Jolie Pitt makes an appearance alongside her mother in upcoming Disney film Maleficent that is scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 30?
Don't worry, it isn't that the Jolie Pitts are being hypocritical. "We think it's fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors," Jolie said. It's just that apparently for this particular movie, no one else could have done what Vivienne did. At the time that the film was being made, Vivienne was 4 years old. A child between the ages of 3 and 4 was needed, but children that age could not stand to be around Jolie in full Maleficent makeup.
According to Jolie:
Big kids thought I was cool! But little kids really didn't like me. So in order to have a child that wants to play with [Maleficent] but I don't want to play with her--to have that scene--it had to be a child that really liked me and wasn't afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv.
How sweet is it that Vivienne wasn't terrified of her mother all made up with horns, freakish cheekbones and crazy eyes? Look at this beautiful image of mother and daughter in a HUGE Disney film.
This image will surely become a family keepsake.
