gisele BundchenAs unbelievable as it may seem, some Latino celebs that weren't born in the U.S. struggled just like many of us to learn the English language. Gisele Bundchen in particular recently told Jimmy Fallon how she managed to learn English when she first arrived in the U.S. from her native Brazil--and you're not going to believe her surprising story!

It wasn't through Inglés sin Barreras or Rosetta Stone that helped a 16-year-old Bundchen learn the language, but something a lot more popular than you would think!

During an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the former Victoria's Secret model explained the struggle when she first arrived to New York to pursue her dream job. She says her inability to speak English set her back, but she found a solution rather quickly.

Like most teen girls in the 90s she loved Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey's music. "My wonderful cassette tapes, Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey, saved my life!" she explained to the talk show host. Apparently listening to the artists taught the Brazilian beauty everything she needed to know about the English language.

She says that if she were to ever meet them in person that she would thank them for helping her and being inspiring. How amazing is that?!

It's true when they say that music is its own language and it doesn't matter what you speak, because the message still gets through. The model is super fluent now and speaks Portuguese, some Spanish, and English. You wouldn't even suspect that Gisele struggled to learn English because she speaks it so well now. She revealed that at home she makes sure to speak to her kids in Portuguese and her hubby, Tom Brady speaks to them in English.

It's great to hear a big-time star like Gisele reveal her own struggles with learning a new language. No matter what it is, it's tough especially if you're new to a foreign country and have to communicate when getting around. Maybe Gisele will be featured in Mariah's next album now that she knows that she helped the star out!
