Hello to all of the gorgeous mamis out there! So I've been blogging for MamasLatinas for a few weeks now and I have to say: I'm having a blast! I love sharing my mami wisdom and experience with all of you mujeres--and I especially love hearing from all of the hardworking, beautiful, amazing, complex, strong mamás out there who leave me comments on my blog and hit me up on Twitter (YOU all inspire me every week)!
And because I love reading your comments and tweets, I thought that for this week's Mami Makeover, it would be fun to answer some of your questions.

Hi Evelyn, I am 28 years old and a mother to three beautiful children and I really need advice on how to flatten my tummy after having three C-sections. My self-esteem is way low because not only am I in the middle of a divorce, I have been told by many that you can never lose your stomach if you had C-sections. I need advice! Thanks. --Janice
Hola Janice! Great to hear from you. I get this question a lot in regards to losing your tummy after having a C-section. First off, I want to inform everyone that it takes time to lose the belly ... don't stress if your tummy doesn't go down right away. Consult with your doctor first and find out how soon you can exercise because every case is different. The most important type of exercise for weight loss is aerobic exercise and I tell every mother to take 30 minutes out of their schedule five days a week to help lose your baby belly. You can walk, jog, bike, run, take an aerobics class, salsa lessons, or even swim. Once you begin the aerobic party, start to combine strengthening that will target your tummy muscles. Over time, you will lose excess tummy weight. Do not attempt abdominal exercises until you have permission from your doctor, since you can interfere with the healing process if they are done prematurely. Keep me posted on how it goes!
How many times a week do you workout. And for how long? XoXo --Precious
Thanks for your question! I normally work out five days a week for 45 minutes to an hour. Sometimes, I may substitute working out for hiking instead!
Evelyn, I have four kids and love food, which resulted in a flabby stomach. I mean, extra flabby. What can I do to tighten up my stomach? I'm Latin and Black, cute in the face, but not so gorgeous in the waist. Help!! --Kim
Kim, the one thing you need to do is back away from the table. If you know that you are eating more than you should and not eating things that will help maintain your weight, then stop. Eat fresh greens, fruits and veggies. Take youthH2O (or drink tons of water) in order to boost your metabolism--this will also help you lose weight. In regards to tightening your tummy, do cardiovascular workouts and resistance training with weights or bands that work all the muscles in the body to melt extra fat. You have to have an overall workout plan that will challenge your entire body that will shrink the layer of fat that sits on top of the muscle. Also, do reverse crunches and weighted exercises. As you build muscle, you will replace the loose skin.
