'Teen Mom' star Kailyn Lowry is the latest crazy celeb to eat her own placenta
Is it me, or are more and more celebrities these days talking about eating their own placenta? Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry is the latest to try out the rejuvenating practice, which according to reports cost her $200. Supposedly this stuff includes a ton of beauty and health benefits, including making you look younger. The 21-year-old mom-to-be, who's due next month, hasn't even had her baby yet and she's already thinking about maintaining her looks post-pregnancy. Looks like someone taken a cue from Kim Kardashian!

It's been said that ingesting your own placenta, which tends to be high in iron and B-12, can do it all from increase strength and energy levels, help produce milk, prevent post-partum depression, reduce fatigue and hormone deficiencies, and even keep you looking younger. A lot of mothers have been trying this crazy new trend, but Kim Kardashian along with Mad Men star January Jones were among the first celebs to start the hype and it looks like Kailyn is falling for it. She spent 200 bucks just to have her placenta encapsulated (made into a pill form).
"Just paid for my placenta to be encapsulated!" she shared excitedly on Twitter a few days ago. Kailyn, who already has a son, Isaac, from ex-boyfriend Joe Rivera, is expecting her second child with husband Javi Marroquin next month. I guess the soon-to-come due date has her already preparing for post-pregnancy. But until a doctor can prove to me that eating your own placenta can really do all these amazing things I'm not convinced. This weird practice sounds like brujería to me! I really wouldn't be surprised if it's been done before in witch craft rituals or something.
Just the thought of eating my own placenta whether it's in pill form or not, makes me want to gag. I'd much rather take some iron, B-12, and D-3 supplements and call it a day. The next thing they're going to say is that drinking your own pee is good for you. Sorry, but I'll pass!
