Emmy Awards 2013: Sofia Vergara snubbed AGAIN for the Best Supporting Actress Emmy
Sofia Vergara lost out on the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy yet again, only this time it wasn't to her costar Julie Bowen but to up-an-coming actress Merritt Wever, from Showtime's Nurse Jackie.
This was Vergara's fourth Emmy nomination for her role as Gloria Salgado Pritchett on ABC's hit sitcom Modern Family. I have to admit, I was super bummed out when she lost out. She had so much to work with this season with a hilarious unexpected pregnancy!

Though Merritt was obviously shocked that she won and gave an adorably short acceptance speech, it was hard not to acknowledge the elephant in the room, even if there were seven nominees in the jam-packed Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy category.
Sofia took it all in stride, keeping her wide smile up until the very last moment. I totally saw her face fall right when the camera began to pan away, but come on, who can blame her for being disappointed? She's been working hard and really gave it her all with Gloria's juicy storyline this year.
All else aside, Vergara looked every inch the sex symbol in a plunging, fitted ruby red Vera Wang mermaid gown. The dress featured a beautiful peplum and lace detailing and Sofia complimented the look with golden waves and huge emerald tear drop earrings. On the red carpet chatting with Giuliana Rancic, Vergara admitted that her least sexy trait was that she wears socks to bed no matter what.
It was pretty funny, but it was nothing compared to her HUGE wardrobe mishap at last year's Emmys. Half way through the show, the aquamarine, sequined Zuhair Murad gown Sofia was wearing split, exposing the Colombian superstar's butt. It was hilarious, and something that Vergara's reportedly estranged fiance was there to document! I say "reportedly" because she brought Nick Loeb along with her to the awards show this year! See below for photographic evidence...
So, it looks like the wedding might be back on! I know better than to expect a big deal, since she recently admitted she's probably going to go for a small, intimate wedding if and when they do make it down the aisle.
Either way, Sofia looked fantastic tonight, and though we're sad that she didn't take the award home, she obviously has a ton of amazing things in the future to look forward to!
