Clint Eastwood & his Latina ex-wife caught up in crazy spouse-swapping split
I was probably one of the few people saddened by the Clint and Dina Eastwood separation news the other day. However, my mind was blown today as I found out--cue the dramatic telenovela music!--that the plot surrounding their 17-year marriage drama thickens even more! In fact their story is so huge that I wouldn't be surprised if a TV producer picks up this storyline for a telenovela.
So what is the twist in this on-going split saga?
Okay try to follow: Clint has a girlfriend named Erica Tomlinson-Fisher who was married to Dina's friend, Scott Fisher, for over 33 years until they split in 2012. Erica suspected that Scott was cheating with Dina and she told Clint about it sometime last year. Little did she know that she would find herself being romanced by Mr. Eastwood himself. So now, Clint and Erica are a thing, but what happened with Dina and Scott?
Well, turns out they weren't together, but shortly after Dina and Clint split amicably in June 2012, Scott and Dina started dating too! In sum, the exes are together and seem to be happy despite the circumstances. Dina has even taken to her Twitter to defend her ex-husband due to negative media backlash he's received.
In a tweet she sent out on September 2 she wrote: "I don't like reading negative things about Clint. He is a wonderful, good natured, brilliant person. No matter what, I attest to that." Even though she backs Clint, Dina did reveal to US Weekly that she was saddened to see pictures of her ex with his new flame. Dina has been vocal about her split from the famous Hollywood legend, who is the father of her 16-year-old daughter, but he has kept quiet.
It' shocking that the couple was able to maintain their year long separation so low-key that it wasn't even revealed until now! I don't know about you, but this crazy wife and husband swapping totally took me by surprise. I understand that relationships sometimes don't work out, but swapping exes totally added a twist to the Eastwood telenovela. In the end if they're happy, that's what counts, right?
