Jennifer Lopez: "Marc Anthony helped me get over my biggest insecurity"
After multiple high-profile marriages, it seems like Jennifer Lopez finally knows exactly what she is looking for in love. In a revealing new interview with Cosmopolitan, the mom of two opened up about her almost two-year relationship with boyfriend Casper Smart and revealed how ex-husband Marc Anthony helped her overcome one of her biggest insecurities (yes, even J.Lo has them!).

Lopez, who looks seriously sexy on the cover in a black cropped vest and see-through lace pants, told the magazine that at this point, she knows what she's looking for when it comes to romance. "For me, it's about having a great partner to walk this life with. I have my own high standards for what I want in a partner and how I want to be treated," she said to the glossy.
And she's not willing to settle, especially since it seems she knows exactly just how much she contributes to the relationship. "I bring a lot to the table," she stated. "I'm not talking about material things but what I have to offer as a person--love and loyalty and all the things that make a good relationship."
But though she might be content with her personal life now, Lopez has no qualms admitting she learned a lot from her past relationships. In fact, the star says that she didn't start feeling truly confident about herself until after she had twins, Max and Emme, and that their dad, ex-husband Anthony, was the one to help her get there. She confessed:
The biggest insecurity I had was my singing. Even though I had sold 70 million records, there was this feeling like, I'm not good at this. And while I was married to Marc, he helped me get over it. He kept telling me, 'You're the only one holding yourself back from reaching your full potential as a singer. You have to let go'…. Then I grew, little by little, and realized, wait a minute, this is not a fluke. I'm not a mistake--I work my ass off. And I know what I'm doing.
I don't think anyone can argue with that! Whether or not you're a fan, there's no denying that Lopez is one of the biggest celebrities in the world and an amazing businesswoman. And yet, as revealed here, even she isn't 100 percent self-confident all of the time.
Personally, I really respect that Lopez is so forthcoming about the anxieties she's felt about her career and otherwise. It's rare to see anyone in Hollywood be so honest and I find it really refreshing. Plus, it's pretty obvious that she's learned a lot about herself and her abilities by facing whatever insecurities she may have had or mistakes she may have made head-on. I mean, just look at her enormous success! Clearly, she's doing something right.
