'The Voice:' Coaches fight to fill their teams in last round of blind auditions (VIDEOS)
Last night marked the end of the blind auditions on The Voice! With only one open spot remaining on each judge's team, the coaches were pickier than ever. But even in a very intense competition, a few singers truly managed to shine, becoming the final contestants to move on to next week's battle rounds.
My favorite performance of the night was that of Luke Edgemon, who sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" and got Usher and Shakira (the only two coaches with open at that point) to turn around. And with each only having one spot open and eager to fill their team, both Shaki and Usher battled it out, giving it their best arguments to try and sway him to their side. But in the end, Shakira won out, becoming the third coach to fill her spot.
24-year-old Jackie Sandell, who used to be a ballet dancer, sang "Dreams" and got both Blake Shelton and Usher to turn their chairs around. Though each coach pointed out qualities of her voice that they liked, Shelton apparently appealed ot her more as Sandell ended up choosing him and filling the very last spot on his team.
Levine filled his team with country singer, Amber Carrington, who sang Carrie Underwood's "Good Girl." And I have to say, the look on Blake's face when he realized his team was full and that Levine was about to get someone from his genre was pretty priceless! Still, I think it'll make for a good match.
Usher was the last coach of the night to fill his team. welcoming Jessica Childress, who sang Bruno Mars' "Marry You."
Wow, I really think this season's teams will be some of the best we've ever seen. All of the artists are so diverse and talented and I can't wait to see all of them work with their coaches for the first time and leave it all on stage in the battle rounds! It'll also be the first time that we get to see Shakira and Usher show off their mentoring skills. Will they be able to hold up against Shelton and Adam? Will judges steal some of the other coaches talent? Guess we'll have to wait to find out!
