Tonight is the much-anticipated finale of season 3 of The Voice, but coach Christina Aguilera is marking an even bigger milestone today: her birthday! That's right, the one and only Xtina is turning 32 years old today.

2012 has been a big year for the mom and singer. From her reality show judging duties to the the release of her seventh studio album, it seemed like Aguilera was EVERYWHERE this year. And as an avid viewer of The Voice and a fan of Aguilera's (well...most of the time), I decided to celebrate her birthday by rounding up a few of her best moments from the past year.

Happy birthday Xtina!

Releasing new music 1

Releasing new music

At last! Aguilera returned to her roots and reversed from coach back to artist with the release of her seventh album, Lotus. Though the CD didn't sell as well as some of her past ones, I was personally relieved to hear that she sounded a lot more like the old Xtina on her new music than the utter disaster that was her last record, Bionic. And she wasn't just making her own music! She partnered with everyone from co-stars Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine (with band Maroon 5) to Pitbull!

Etta James Tribute 2

Etta James Tribute

In January, Aguilera performed a beautiful rendition of “At Last” at Etta James’ private funeral. And though some people were more concerned with her apparent spray tan fail, I cared more about how she sounded (AMAZING!) than her appearance.

Stating her mind 3

Stating her mind

Aguilera is known for saying pretty much exactly what she wants when she wants to. A lot of times, this has only served to land her in trouble. But this year, Xtina's no-nonsense attitude actually led to some pretty astute when she appeared on the cover of Latina and said "All I know is no one can tell me I’m not a proud Latina woman."  Go girl!

Aguilera embraced her humantiarian side this year, even appearing in a public service announcement video for the Yum! Brands World Hunger Relief effort to benefit the United Nations World Food Program.

Coaching on The Voice 5

Coaching on The Voice

After copping a HORRIBLE attitude towards the end of The Voice's last season, I was pretty expecting the worst this time around. But Aguilera was helpful, complimentary and just all-around nice. She still had her little diva moments here and there(well, she is Xtina after all), but it was refreshing to see her be so supportive of other artists. Heck, she even made nice with fellow coach, Adam Levine!

Mommyhood 6

Of course, Aguilera's most important role of the year was the same as the past few years: being a mom to her son, Max!  She was spotted out and about with him all over the place, participating in all kinds of fun activities, including pumpkin picking. Aww, so cute to see her in mommy mode!
