Barbara Walters names Honey Boo Boo one of the Most Fascinating People
Once again, it's the time when Barbara Walters' much anticipated announcement about the people she considers the Most Fascinating of the past year is released. And this year's list is quite…interesting, to say the least. The reason? Honey Boo Boo managed to make the list! Walters has received mixed reviews for adding the pint sized beauty queen to her list since some don't find her all that important to be on such a list. But others are excited over the news.
If you've read my Honey Boo Boo posts from the first season, you'll know I fall in the latter of those two groups. I can't exactly explain what it is about that little girl, but Barbara Walters seems to agree with me that she was worth a spot on her list!
In case you need a recap of who Honey Boo Boo is, she is the famous TLC channel Toddlers and Tiara star who got her own spin-off, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and became a sensation overnight for her hilarious personality. Her real name is Alana Thompson, but 'Honey Boo Boo' is the pageant name her mother gave her, which somehow stuck (I think its a little silly and fits her quite well!). The world agrees that there are certain things that just sound funnier coming out of a 6-year-old's mouth--and all the craziness has gained her and her unique family's show a second season.

Walters defends adding Alana to her list of Most Fascinating People, saying that the relationship between the child and her mother, June, is what appeals to her more. Honey Boo Boo has many fans including celebrities ranging from Britney Spears to the Jersey Shore ladies, but like most superstars, she has a few haters too.
One of them being singer Adam Levine, who took to Twitter to express his disgust with Walter's choice and saying: "Seriously, Honey Boo Boo is the DECAY of Western civilization," adding, "That show is literally The. Worst. Thing. That's. Ever. Happened."
Although Honey Boo Boo can't impress everyone, she managed to get everyone's attention with the show displaying her crazy family antics and her catch phrases such as, "You better redneckonize" and my favorite, "A dolla makes me holla!"
While I can understand why some people are opposed to Alana being on the list, I also think they forget that it's a show based on a child expressing herself in a way most children do. She may not be popular with everyone, but she sure knows how to make pure comedy. If you're interested in seeing Alana and Walter's interview be sure to tune in Wednesday Dec. 12 at 9:30 p.m. EST.
