Starting today and going through February, there's a battle to the death (metaphorically speaking!) between Romeo Santos, Prince Royce, and Jenni Rivera for Premios Lo Nuestro votes. So, basically, the King, the Prince, and the Diva want to become your favorite artist and go home with the most amount of these trophies!

It may seem unfair, but aside from how good their material is or how hard they've worked on it, it's ultimately the public who will determine their success, as a Premio Lo Nuestro is an accurate indicator of how popular a star is for U.S. Latinos!

Nominations were announced this morning on Univision's Despierta America and both Santos and Royce received seven nods. The fight between these two bachateros shows the influence that the Dominican Republic has on the music we listen to here in the States. These crooners are going head-to-head in the Tropical Music category, for Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Jenni Rivera, for her part, has five nominations--which make her the most successful woman of the year. Among them, she got nods for Premio Lo Nuestro artist of the year, album of the year for Joyas Prestadas, female artist of the year, and song of the year for "A cambio de qué."

Big Latin Grammy winners Jesse & Joy are nominated for song of the year, collaboration of the year, video for their song "¡Corre!", and of course album of the year for their wildly successful ¿Con quién se queda el perro?.

Another big name of the night will be Don Omar, who is nominated for several big awards, among them Premio Lo Nuestro artist of the year and a nod for a duet he recorded with Natti Natasha for collaboration of the year.

Other nominees include Maná, Beto Cuevas, Juanes, Juan Magán, and Victor Manuelle, Alejandro Sanz, Paulina Rubio, Ricardo Arjona, Chino y Nacho, Juan Luis Guerra, Daddy Yankee--and many other of our huge music stars.

The best part of this awards show is that WE get to choose the winners. Do you know who you're voting for? You have until February of next year. Check out some videos of the three most nominated artists--and see if you can pick!
