'America's Got Talent:' Sebastien de la Cruz proves himself in wild card round! (VIDEO)
Last night's episode of America's Got Talent was the one everyone has been waiting for--the wild card round! Each judge brought back four previously eliminated acts to give them one last chance of making it into the semifinals. I was thrilled last week to learn that everyone's favorite mariachi cutie, Sebastien De La Cruz, was one of the lucky few chosen to return. So how did the 10-year-old do?

He NAILED it! Seriously, that kid can sing. Dressed in his usual full regalia and backed by his band, Sebastien "El Charro de Oro," as he is known, took a slightly different approach to his performance, opting to sing "New York, New York" instead of his usual mariachi songs. Though he seemed a little nervous in the beginning (who wouldn't be?), by the middle of the song, he had hit his stride, belting out the lyrics with confidence and showing off an astonishingly powerful vocal ability! His performance even garnered a standing ovation from judges Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel.
"You are more than a singer, you are an entertainer," said Mandel, who picked De La Cruz as one of his wild cards. "You are beyond your years….I think you are a star." I couldn't agree more! After being cut in a shocking elimination, he deserves this second chance. I just hope viewers actually step up to the plate and vote this time!
Another one of my favorite acts, Andrew de Leon, also returned to the AGT stage last night. The teenager, who shocked the world in his audition with his untraditional look and soft, operatic voice, once again left me stunned with his abilities. De Leon sang the Il Divo version of "Unbreak My Heart"...and it was amazing. His performance drew a roaring reaction from the audience and very high praise from the judges, who called it "his night of redemption."
Wow, what incredible performances from both of these acts! I am so glad that they not only got another chance to prove their talent (which they obviously have), but also that each were able to make such fantastic comebacks. Though we won't find out for sure until tonight's results episode, I fully expect to see both of them in the semifinals after this amazing wild card round. America, start voting!
