Who knew U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte was Latino?! (VIDEO)
In one of the most surprising and cutest videos that I've seen in a long time, it turns out that U.S. Olympic swimmer and Vogue cover star Ryan Lochte is actually half Cuban! WHAT???
I mean, talk about a man to give William Levy fans a run for their money! Let's see, Ryan is hot… he's athletic… he may be winning some medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London next month… he's got an adorable Cuban mami. What's not to love?

I think my only complaint about this hottie is that he's wearing WAY too much on the cover of Men's Health this month (as in, he's wearing a sweater instead of showing off those oh-so-yummy shoulders). As a Cuban myself, though, I don't think I could possibly be any more proud than to find out that one of the most talented swimmers is a Latino himself!

And, well, like a true mamá Latina herself, his mom Llena "Ike" Lochte (who was born in Havana, Cuba) couldn't possibly be prouder of him. In the video below, the mami talks about how she felt the first time that her son won a gold medal (he's now got six medals under his belf, and hopefully more soon!), his favorite Cuban foods (um, can he come marry me now, ASAP?!) and what she's hoping he will do after his swimming career. I know what I'll be doing this Olympics: cheering on my fellow half-Cuban American with all my pride. WOO HOO!
