Now that the woman frequently recognized as the most beautiful woman in the world has been called too fat for not losing her post-pregnancy weight fast enough, I am REALLY mad. What is WRONG with all of these people? New mom Bollywood princess Aishwarya Rai is being criticized for still not being back at her previously svelte figure SIX MONTHS AFTER GIVING BIRTH.

We already know all about Jessica Simpson committment to dropping the baby weight—and fast!—with a new contract with Weight Watchers. Although I admire her wanting to lose the weight, it seems like there is a lot of pressure on her to do it quickly. Isn't criticizing the most beautiful woman in the world for not losing her pregnancy weight fast enough and pressuring a mom who gained a perfectly normal amount of weight during her pregnancy just taking things TOO FAR?

Neither of these beautiful ladies may be Latina, but that doesn't stop my outrage at the judgement of these women who JUST grew another human being inside of them. Whatever happened to appreciating the miracle of child birth? One commenter, who was disgusted by Aishwarya Rai not losing the weight quickly enough, commented that "she needs to learn from people like Victoria Beckham who are back to size zero weeks after their delivery."

Clearly people are out of their minds. Just because one celebrity (who looks like skin and bones every day of the week) set some pretty crazy standards doesn't mean that the rest of us have to adhere and follow suit. A woman's body is meant to put on weight while she's pregnant. It's NORMAL. It's what evolution wanted. We're eating more to help grow and protect the baby. It takes nine months for our bodies to change. How can we possibly be expected to bounce back in just a few weeks or even months?

I'm actually a little disappointed that Jessica Simpson is essentially allowing herself to be pressured to bounce back to her old weight. Maybe she's seeing it as extra motivation, her reportedly $4 million contract with Weight Watchers, but I worry that she'll be criticized even more if she can't drop the weight as quickly as people think she should. With all of the negativity thrown around towards pregnant women, I hope Aishwarya Rai has plenty of supporters because, let's face it, the woman is still gorgeous. And so is Jessica Simpson, who deserves to take her time bonding with her baby instead of rushing off to the gym to lose the weight.

First of all, there's no need to gain more than 20 pounds during pregnancy. Anymore than that is UNHEALTHY, and dangerous for both: mother and baby. It's not about being attractive or not, it's about having HEALTHY eating habits. During pregnancy, women should not eat more, they should eat better. The cravings falacy is only a myth, nothing wrong will happen to your baby if you don't eat that double whopper, chug it down with a diet coke and follow it with a banana split. Get real.
