New book by Selena's husband reveals intimate details
If you always wanted to know more about the relationship between Selena, "The Queen of Tejano music," and her husband, musician Chris Perez, your wait is almost over. Perez has written a book called To Selena, With Love which will be released next Tuesday, March 6, in which he tells the untold story of their romance. Perez writes about the most intimate details from hiding their relationship and eloping to what it was like to lose the love of his life.
Perez has said that lots of people had asked him to share their love story so that Selena's adoring fans could learn a little bit more about their idol who was tragically murdered a few days short of her 24th birthday. But Perez says he felt like his feelings were too private and that his memories with her were the only thing he had left once she was so abruptly taken away from him. Until now.
Coming out almost 17 years after the death of the star, Perez, according to Amazon's description of the book, shows a side of her that has never been disclosed before and he also clarifies misconceptions about her life and death.
"This book is for her," said the guitarrist who plans to tour several stores to promote it and for book signings.
Other books written about this Latina music superstar include Selena's Secret: The Revealing Story Behind Her Tragic Death written by Maria Celeste Arraras of Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo when she was the anchorwoman of Univision's Primer Impacto. And, of course, who can forget Selena the movie, which propelled Jennifer Lopez to stardom.
