Gisele asks family & friends to pray for Tom Brady ahead of Super Bowl
Supermodel Gisele Bündchen recently did something that not only showed how TOTALLY Latina she is at heart, but also humanized her in a real way for me. You see, Gisele and her hubby Tom Brady (three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback for the New England Patriots, in case you didn't know) have always sort of freaked me out.
Why--you might be wondering--does this marriage between a supermodel and an athlete freak me out? I mean, athletes have been coupling with insanely beautiful women since the dawn of televised sports. Well, the thing is, Gisele and Tom are just too darn perfect for me. They waltz around their perfect neighborhoods in NYC and Boston, stepping out of their perfect brownstones with their perfect clothes and their perfect hair and their perfect (no, seriously, their adorable) kids and it all just makes me want to barf.
Gisele even had a water birth, at home with a midwife and no drugs and of course, found breastfeeding so effortless that she declared it should be a law that all mother's breastfeed for the first six months of their babies lives. Sigh...really, Giselle?
This is one of the reasons I was so elated when the New York Giants dashed Brady's quest for a perfect season on that fateful February day in 2008. OK, fine, I will also admit that I am a rabid Giants fan, but more so it put a dent in their totally perfect life!
Anyways, this is why I found her recent email plea to friends and family really quite endearing. Reportedly, Gisele sent a message out to her nearest and dearest asking them to pray for Tom Brady when he heads to the Super Bowl on Sunday. Here's part of the message:
My sweet friends and family,
This Sunday will be a really important day in my husband's life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this Super Bowl. I feel Tommy really needs our prayer, our support and love at this time. So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this Sunday.
Thank you for your love and support.
Love, G :).
How cute is that? Not only is she super supportive, but she's asking everyone to get on board. How much do you want to bet she lit some candles and maybe even put up an altar, all in the name of giving Brady a little extra help come February 5th?
This totally made her a little more real to me and though I will never, ever, ever, ever route for the New England Patriots--it's endearing that she's pulling out all the spiritual stops to support her man. Can I get and "Awww"?
Would you ever ask your friends and family to pray for your man on an important day in his life?
