3 more reasons to love Ricky Martin

I was in love with Ricky Martin long before he hit it big with the English-speaking crowd through 1990s pop hits like “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and “She Bangs”. I remember listening to my first Ricky Martin CD and being obsessed with the radio version of “Maria”. I loved that Maria drove him wild and he drove me wild as a teen.

Although he’s had ups-and-downs in success over the past few years, the Latino pop star is set to rock 2012 like never before. And that’s why I love him.

  1. He’s putting 110% into Evita. As he trains for his starring role playing Che in the new Broadway revival this coming Spring, he’s tweeted his excitement for the role as well as adorable photos of him with castmates Elena Roger (playing the title role) and famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who created the show along with Tim Rice.
  2. He’s still sexy playing the hot new Spanish teacher on Glee. In an episode titled “The Spanish Teacher” that’s set to air on Tuesday, September 7th at 8pm EST on Fox, he’s teaching the kids of McKinley High School how to sing in our native tongue. I can’t wait to see him shake his bon bons on one of my favorite shows.
  3. He’s a doting dad. He may be keeping busy with Evita and guest starring roles on Glee, but this hunk is proving he’s still a family man, too. Seen around NYC taking his 3-year-old twins out to lunch during a break from rehearsals, the openly gay star has also recently said that he’d like to add a daughter to complete his family.
