I abuse my hair a lot: I blow dry, curl, straighten, occasionally get a Brazilian keratin treatment and color it. I've had a perm in the past and tend to go from one color to another more than anyone would ever recommend. The last time I asked my hair for advice on a hairstyle I was considering, she said, "What does it matter? You'll change it in two months, anyway."
It's a funny statement, mostly because it's true. Today my hair is barely below my earlobes and colored red, whereas a month and a half ago it was halfway down my back and almost black. Sometimes I really hate reading lists about the foods that are the worst for you. I don't mean the foods that we obviously know are bad (anything fried or just eating too much red meat), but the foods that we assume are actually going to be healthy for us: fruits and vegetables.
Every year the Environmental Working Group comes out with a list they call the "Dirty Dozen," which pretty much tells us what produce has the most pesticide in the U.S. To be honest, it's always a really depressing list for me to read, especially since this year, once again, apples are at the very top of the not-safe-to-buy list.Continue Reading >
As someone who's gone up-and-down in weight her whole life, I know now that eating healthy is ALL about keeping the weight off and I am absolutely determined to make sure that I do the same with my family.
