April Hernandez Castillo
Most know me for my dramatic role as Eva in the 2007 drama Freedom Writers. I have been able to inspire audiences while starring in award winning TV dramas, including my 2010 SAG nominated role as Cira on Dexter. When I'm not acting or preparing to be a mom, I'm a motivational speaker & spokesperson for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. I also founded the annual L.O.V.E. Walk (Love Overcomes Violence Eternally), an annual day dedicated to solidarity and awareness to help put an end to domestic violence.

I am going to be participating in a march against domestic violence this weekend and I want all of you in the NYC area to join me. It's a cause that is very near and dear to my heart and a march that I founded back in 2011. So this year will be the second annual the L.O.V.E (Love Overcomes Violence Eternally) march. I started this with a friend of mine in the hopes that if we went public with our former abusive relationships, other women would join the movement and we can all help prevent this from every happening to another person ever again.
October is domestic violence awareness month and there is only ONE other walk in all of NYC to stand against violence towards women. Will you join me? Watch my video below and find out all about this movement and make sure to visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/thelovewalk.

But still no baby. She seems pretty intent on staying right where she is, but either way, I'm ready for her and already thinking about how I can make her a proud, strong, and smart little Latina. First step? Mami wants to graduate from college!!!
I'm seriously counting down the minutes until my baby daughter arrives--and I can't wait to meet her! And let me tell you, my little girl is going to be fabulous, with her adorable onesies, chic first dress (awww!), and picture-perfect flower headband.
