When you're Latina, shopping for skin care and makeup products can be a challenge. Luckily, times have changed and I can now easily find foundation that perfectly matches my naturally tan skin. With that said, how do we know what skincare and makeup products work best for us?Continue Reading >
Unlike most women I know, I can't just walk into a department store and buy whatever cosmetics are hot at the moment. If I did, I'd be asking for rashes, red bumps, itchiness, and acne to break out all over my skin. I have sensitive skin and that means it doesn't react well to certain chemicals and products. With that said, I've tested practically every single beauty product out there, and there are quite a few good ones that work well on sensitive skin like mine--trust me!Continue Reading >
My first bit of advice is not to look in the mirror for at least a few days after your baby is born. I'm not trying to be dramatic, but trust me, if you look at your naked body right after delivering a baby, you will feel very, very dramatic. It's not worth the blow to your self-esteem, so just hold off for a few days, maybe a week. That being said, you should expect to be puffy all over from fluid retention, your belly will feel and look very squishy and misshapen for several weeks, hormone fluctuations can cause breakouts and hair loss and exhaustion will probably have you looking even worse for the wear. Of course, all of this is normal and at some point--probably not too long after your bundle of joy's arrival--you'll start to feel like it's about time to start looking like a human again. Below are some tips that can have you feeling and looking better, straight out of the delivery room.Continue Reading >

OK, I've seen and heard of a lot of absurd beauty fads in my day, but this might seriously be the craziest yet!Continue Reading >
Just because it's colder out doesn't give you an excuse to walk around with ashy skin and a super dry face. I get it though! My combination skin tends to act up on me during the winter months, leaving me flaky, scaly, ashy, and itchy from head to toe. And let's face it, naturally tan skin and achiness don't pair well together!Continue Reading >
Let's face it--nothing looks better than a flawless even complexion. But unfortunately, uneven skin, hyperpigmentation, and pesky dark manchas is a problem a lot of us Latinas (especially with medium and dark skin) struggle with. So what's the trick to bright, blotch-free skin? Well it's certainly not foundation or concealer. An improved skin tone calls for a new and updated skincare routine my friends!Continue Reading >
I've never understood why so many celebs fill their cheeks with silicone. But apparently, fuller cheeks is the secret to a younger-looking face. According to a few New York dermatologists, women that are blessed with a "baby face" tend to have fuller cheeks, which apparently makes them look years younger than other women their age.
I have no clue if Jennifer Lopez's full cheeks are natural or not, but you have to admit the woman looks pretty darn good for a 44-year-old. Heck, if this is what cosmetic cheek fillers look like, then it's no wonder it's become more popular than face lifts and wrinkle fillers. Who doesn't want to look like this!Continue Reading >
