Spring is finally here--thank God!--and that means less layers ladies and also getting your skcare in gear for the new season. I don't know what it is, but I always have the hardest time adapting a new beauty regimen. I find myself using the same cleansers and the same heavy winter moisturizers during April and May. Then I wonder why the sudden breakouts!
I don't know about you, but I can't go a day without my facial cleansing wipes. It's the only thing that gets my makeup (especially waterproof mascara) off effectively and more importantly--quickly! Trust me when I say that I've tried practically every makeup remover out there.
So when I read a recent article claiming that facial wipes are basically the worst thing you can put on your face, I of course--panicked!
Acne is a common skin issue that affects teens, adults, and even pregnant women! I know when I was younger I thought once I became an adult that it would go away. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and I learned the dreadful truth about adult acne. It could be hormonal or caused by external factors when flare ups appear on your face.
The good news is you can reduce their reoccurences if you fix your diet. Make sure you have this list handy the next time you go grocery shopping!Continue Reading >

When you're Latina, shopping for skin care and makeup products can be a challenge. Luckily, times have changed and I can now easily find foundation that perfectly matches my naturally tan skin. But CC creams that are meant to color correct hyperpigmentation, pesky manchas, and uneven skin tones (problems most of us Latinas have) and skincare products specifically designed for us aren't easy to come by. Unlike most women I know, I can't just walk into a department store and buy whatever cosmetics are hot at the moment. My first bit of advice is not to look in the mirror for at least a few days after your baby is born. I'm not trying to be dramatic, but trust me, if you look at your naked body right after delivering a baby, you will feel very, very dramatic. It's not worth the blow to your self-esteem, so just hold off for a few days, maybe a week. That being said, you should expect to be puffy all over from fluid retention, your belly will feel and look very squishy and misshapen for several weeks, hormone fluctuations can cause breakouts and hair loss and exhaustion will probably have you looking even worse for the wear. Of course, all of this is normal and at some point--probably not too long after your bundle of joy's arrival--you'll start to feel like it's about time to start looking like a human again. Below are some tips that can have you feeling and looking better, straight out of the delivery room.Continue Reading >
