5 Surprising ways to use coffee grounds for beauty
I'm not much of a coffee drinker, strange I know. But I'll never forget the first time I used coffee grounds in my beauty routine. A few of my friends suggested I use it as a body scrub to help banish cellulite. So one day I finally decided to give it a shot. I made some cafecito using my old school greca and once it cooled down I collected the coffee grounds from the filter. I mixed it with a little bit of coconut oil and rubbed it all over my thighs in a circular motion. I did this for days and after just a few weeks I already started seeing results. And that's not all you can do with this stuff!

They say coffee has a load of health benefits but I still don't buy that. What I can attest to is that coffee has some amazing beauty benefits worth noting. Trust me, I've experienced them myself. Why do you think so many beauty products these days include this ingredient? That's because it's loaded with antioxidants that do it all, from smooth cellulite to banish wrinkles. Here are 5 amazing beauty uses for coffee!
It minimizes the appearance of cellulite. If you scrub your body with coffee grounds, it can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. How does this work? The caffeine in coffee helps dilate blood vessels, which temporarily tones and tightens tissue. The keyword here is temporarily. It might help but don't expect any miraculous or permanent results.
It gets rid of puffy eyes: Ever noticed how a lot of eye creams these days contain coffee? That's because the caffeine helps to reduce swelling and inflammation. Women I know like to wrap cold coffee grounds in a wet paper towel and then place them right over their eyes like you would with tea bags or cucumbers. Keep them on for at least 10 minutes for noticeable results.
It exfoliates: Yes, you can use coffee grounds as a cellulite treatment but you can also use it as a regular body scrub to help polish your skin. Mix it with your favorite oil whether it be coconut oil, almond oil or argan oil. I find it works best with coconut though.
It cleanses your scalp: So get this, coffee grounds can be used to help remove buildup from your scalp. All you have to do is massage it onto your scalp before you shampoo. It helps remove everything from product buildup and even excess oils. If you can handle the mess, then this is so worth it.
Removes smell from hands: I hate how my hands smell after mincing garlic or onions. The only that's ever worked for me is cleansing my hands with fresh lemon juice. But on those days I'm out of lemons, I scrub some leftover coffee grounds all over my hands before rinsing. It miraculously gets the smell right out that is if you don't mind your hands smelling like coffee.
