Desmanchar codosMy abuelita was the queen of home remedies--for her, there wasn't a faster or more affordable way than making her own concoctions. Looking back, my abuela had the most incredible skin I've ever seen. Despite her wrinkles, you could tell that she took of herself all her life: even the roughest patches were as soft as a baby's bottom! Amazingly, Mamá Ella never used commercial brands. She always opted for prepping her own home-made remedies in her kitchen, with ingredients you can find in pretty much any house. This particular recipe uses oatmeal, lemon and parsley.

Forget spending a fortune on whitening creams or getting sick with strong chemicals. The most effective remedios don't come in jars. To get rid of those pesky dark, rough elbows, the best way is the natural way--and being persistent. In about two weeks you'll start to see the results. Check out the recipe below!

Desmanchar codosDIY home remedy to lighten and soften elbows

Ingredients:

-A bunch of parsley

-2 large lemons

-1 heaping tablespoon of powdered oatmeal (if whole, you can just grind it in the food processor)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the parsley leaves in 2 cups of water. Let it cool.
  2. Mix the juice of one lemon with powdered oatmeal. Add the oatmeal little by little since the idea is to form a paste.
  3. Apply this paste to your elbows for at least 30 minutes. Massage it into the area in circular movements to exfoliate.
  4. Rinse the oatmeal paste off with the cooled parsley water.

And that's it! Super easy, right? Each ingredient on its own is a natural whitener, but combining all three will give you out-of-this-world results. You'll soon be showing off soft elbows with no need for expensive products!
