Beauty & Fashion trends I wish would just go away

I love Demi Lovato and seriously admire the guts and tenacity she's displayed over the last year. From admitting she had a problem to begin with to making the bold decision to speak out to young people about self-harm, eating disorders, bullying and depression--it's all been more than amazing. You know what I'm not loving though? Her freaking scary ass nails!

She tweeted a pic yesterday, teasing her fans about a new MTV special she has coming up called Stay Strong (which I will totally watch and most likely cry over) but the only thing I could see were her sharp claws. As in, she filed her nails down to look like they were straight out of the "Thriller" video. I can't even blame her for this trend though, Fergie showed up with talons like these at least a whole year ago. I hated them back then and I hate them now, along with a few other beauty and fashion trends that I wish would just hurry up and be over already.

Want to know what they are?

Well, first and foremost, we have to start with scary talon-like nails. I'm open to experimentation with your manicures ladies, as long as I don't feel like I have to get a rabies shot after getting a hug from ya, OK?

Crimping. Ugh, I have hated this "trend" since it first popped up back in the 80s. Yes, I was an opinionated little girl, but for reals, who wants purposely frizzy hair?! No one, not really...I refuse to believe this.

Stirrup leggings. These are just heinous. Don't do it. Even Downtown Julie Brown couldn't pull it off, so how on earth could anyone else really?

Blue & orange eye shadow. This might be my own prejudice flaring up cause I've yet to find a shade of blue eyeshadow that does anything flattering for my tan skin tone, but also, it reminds me of Drew Carey's assistant on that sitcom he used to have and she was scary. Don't be scary!

Harem pants. I really don't feel like I have to elaborate at all on this one, so I'm not going to.

Crazy fake eyelashes. There are some trends that are best left for celebrities, or even made just for them. Sure, J.Lo might be able to pull of two foot long eyelashes, but that's because people aren't allowed to get within 50 yards of her by decree of the land. These are NOT CUTE on a regular girl, who has regular convos with regular people at a regular distance.

Feathers everywhere. Maybe I'm just hyper-allergic, but dayum, all these feathers everywhere are, literally, driving me crazy. From eyelashes to dresses to hats to hair, they are just ubiquitous and I'm over it.

Hair extensions. OK, I'm a little on the fence with this one, so maybe I should've said "Bad hair extensions" which seem to sort of be the norm lately. I mean, Britney Spears is a gajillionaire, you'd think she'd be able to find someone to do her weave without the tracks showing everytime she puts her hair up. Just ewwwww.

Headbands across your forhead. This is NOT the Age of Aquarius and the only person I've ever seen pull this off without looking totally ridiculous was an Olsen twin. Do you really want to compete with that? If your over the age of 12, skip this trend please. Thank you!

Loungerie. Why would you wear something that was meant to be worn in front of your hubby for like 5 seconds out on the street like all day? Oh yeah, you wouldn't because you are way to stylish to go outside in your PAJAMAS.
